The Biennial that came to Havana: Spain, Cuba, and the debates of modern art in 1954

Lecture by curator Yahíma Rodríguez Pupo dedicated to the Bienal Hispanoamericana de Arte held in 1954. The talk reviews the debates about artistic modernity that occurred between Spain and Cuba as a result of that encounter. It takes place in the Cuban Art building of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and is part of the Cycle of Lectures on Spanish Art, sponsored by the Embassy of Spain. It is an opportunity to approach a key episode in the artistic relations between both countries.
