Havana in December: weather, vibe and what to pack
December is a good month for walking around Havana: it's warm without being oppressive, it rains little and the nights are mild. Here you'll find the weather data, what changes in the city on those days and what to put in your suitcase.
The weather in Havana in December

It is the start of Cuba's less rainy season, which runs from November to April. The Atlantic hurricane season ends on November 30, so in December it is no longer in effect.
These are averages. Some days can be cooler: in winter, cold fronts reach Cuba and bring temperatures down for a few days.
The city in December
It is a month with marked dates: around the 17th, the pilgrimage to San Lázaro; the 24th and 25th, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, which is a holiday; the 31st, New Year's Eve. We tell you about it in detail in New Year's Eve in Havana.
According to its call for entries, the Havana Film Festival (Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano) is announced for December 3 to 13; confirm the dates before you go.

What to pack
- Light clothing for the day and a thin layer for the night or for cold-front days.
- Comfortable shoes, because the best of Old Havana is seen on foot: from our door, Plaza de San Francisco is 1 minute away; Plaza Vieja, 3; and Plaza de Armas, 7.
- Sun protection and a hat: there are about 6 hours of sun a day on average.
